The El Valle course has 18 holes, is par 71 with 4 tees and has a subtle desert feel to it. It has 2 lakes, streams, small waterfalls and groups of bunkers all surrounded by rocks and abundant native vegetation which makes this course one of the great challenges of the Nicklaus Golf Trail.

El Valle is in its infancy. The golf course is open but the clubhouse is a temporary wooden construction (unkindly called a portacabin, but not that bad). It has a functioning bar but the town centre and clubhouse is yet to be completed. (This was in May 08 though and it was very close to completion).

Most of the villas are completed, and some are truly stunning. El Valle was one of the more expensive Polaris resorts and this is reflected in the sizes of the terraces (lovely) and the wooden shutters on the windows which make the apartment blocks look very classy indeed. However, although out of my price range I can still admire them as I wander around the resort. The architecture is wonderful, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Polaris won a few awards for their designs. El Valle has a very homely feel. Probably because it boasts predominantly Villas, with a low build density.
